Kangaroo delivers first thermal coal in Kalimantan

Western Australian-based Kangaroo Resources has announced it has shipped the first barge of thermal coal from its Graha Panca Karsa project in Indonesia's East Kalimantan province. A total of 4,200 tonnes of coal was shipped to the privately owned Cahaya Fajar Kaltim power station.

The GPK project is targeted to produce 100,000 t/y of thermal coal by early 2011 and up to 3-4 Mt/y from 2012.

Development work at the company's recently acquired Mamahak coking coal project has commenced and the mine already has 30,000 tonnes of coking coal stockpiled, providing a solid base to begin the production ramp up.
